Hey car and food lovers! Car mania time! It’s the 12th Annual East Passyunk Car Show and Street Festival, July 30, that stretches 5 blocks on East Passyunk Avenue from Broad to Dickinson Streets. Get ready to check out over 140 antique cars, vintage cars, classic cars, muscle cars, custom cars, trucks and motorcycles.
Prizes will be awarded at 3:30 pm for such categories as best ’50s custom, top 5 motorcycles, best low rider, best of show car and a people’s choice award. That’s right, you’ll get to vote for your favorite car of choice.
In addition to spectacular cars on display, one will need to recoup their energy with some fantastic foods throughout East Passyunk Avenue. Enjoy foods from Cantina Los Caballitos for that Mexican flavor and special margarita, pizza and Italian sandwiches from Marra’s, or treats from Belle Cakery. Enjoy cheese curds from Philly food truck The Cow and the Curd and tater tots from The Tot Cart.
Walking along East Passyunk Avenue, enjoy live music from a different band performing or DJ’s on each block and at certain indoor locations until 3:30 pm. Such entertainers to include Las Palabras, Rick Baccare singing Sinatra,The Drive-Ins, Passyunk Pickers, The Blue Pharaohs, Shakey & Winky, Brown Sugar covering The Rolling Stones, Joey Joy Band and Low Rise.
The fun is not over just yet. There will be a craft show by Bang! Boom! Craft! at the Singing Fountain and the Kid Zone at 13th and Mifflin that will feature kids activities such as a free moon bounce, circus performers, face painting, and more.
The East Passyunk Car Show and Festival will bring fun and excitement to all who attend. Just bring your walking shows, strollers for the kids and your appetite. If it does rain, the rain date is August 7, but let’s hope not.
